AWS North East (Session Two) – Recap
Yesterday we were pleased to host the second AWS North East User Group meet up of 2018, this time the event was held at “ONE Trinity Green” in South Shields and was jointly sponsored by HTG and South Tyneside Council (Jennifer Milne).
The event was greatly received on social media and we were expecting a great turn out for our second event of 2018.
As you can see below the crowd were raring to go…..
Therefore we started off with a brief introduction from Graham Wright (CEO) @ HTG
First out the blocks was Ric Harvey @ric__harvey
UK and Ireland Technical/Developer Evangelist @awscloud.
Ric’s session was a repeat from the AWS Summit in London and was well received by the attendees.
“From Docker to production on Amazon ECS”
Next up was a session by Adam Bohle (@adambohle), Lead Cloud Systems Engineer – VMware Cloud on AWS @VMware
Adam’s session was an overview on “VMware Cloud on AWS” and included use case discussion points leveraging services for cloud migrations and datacenter extension into the public cloud.
We then followed up with a quick break-out session including Pizzas & beers from the event sponsors.
Finally we had Kevin Howell (@kevhowla) and James Rankin (@james____rankin) from HTG talking about “Digital Transformation using Amazon Workspaces and Application Streaming”.
This session included some great tips on how to overcome common blockers such as Office365, legacy app compatibility, Understanding your environment and managing expectations. (Team HTG Mean business)
