Hello world!

Welcome to my Blog. This is my first, so here we go…….

I’ve been contemplating putting my fingers to keyboard for quite some time now and I’ve finally made the jump into the “Blogging Arena”

Here’s a little snippet about me:

I’m Alan Burns, an IT Professional based in Sunderland “The True North East” of the UK. I’ve been working in IT for a little over 12 years now – starting from the bottom on a 1st Line helpdesk, progressing through the ranks of Desktop support, 2nd / 3rd line support, Infrastructure Engineering, Delivery Engineering to Cloud Platform Team Leader at Daisygroup Plc. where our team is responsible for the Design, configuration and installation of various cloud  solutions for our multi tenant platform’s.

I’m a hands on techy and true believer in Virtualisation and Cloud solutions, I like to get my hands dirty with the toys and like to have a good understanding of the complete technology stack from top to bottom.

I’m also an active Leader for the North East England VMware User Group (VMUG) where we strive to bring the latest technology to the region via various means and methods to increase the knowledge and attendees at our quarterly events.

Family Life : I’m a proud Husband and dedicated father of two great children that keep me on my toes constantly, with taxi rides to Football, Swimming or Drama lessons, life is never dull.
